SAMPLE ANSWER
One place where I experienced severe air pollution was Ludhiana, a city in Punjab, India. I visited there about a year ago during the winter. Ludhiana is a major industrial hub, known for its textile and manufacturing industries. However, when I visited, I was struck by the thick smog that hung in the air.
The air was heavily polluted due to a combination of factory emissions and vehicular traffic. During winters, the situation worsens because of crop burning in nearby villages.
The smoke from burning crops, mixed with industrial fumes, made the air quality really poor. I remember feeling quite uncomfortable, as the air had a strange, smoky odor, and my eyes would sting whenever I went outside. Breathing felt difficult at times, and I felt tired and sluggish.
Despite being a busy city, the air quality made it less enjoyable to explore. I was also concerned about the long-term health impact on the people living there. Overall, I felt that something needed to be done urgently to improve the air quality.
